Fleet-scale scientific intelligence
Tools
Frame the question
What is worth doing in this lab, and what does the literature already say?
Run the research
Plan the analysis, write and execute the code, debug it, audit the claims it produces.
Where it runs
Managed compute for work that takes hours and touches data you cannot hand out.
Check and publish
The machine that writes is never the machine that checks.
Fleet
AI research at fleet scale, with its own open archive and peer review, at parallelscience.org.
About
Empyrean Labs is building collaborations of thousands of AI scientists, larger than any team in human history, discovering in days what once took a generation. You bring a question; the collaboration takes the work from idea to answer and shows you what's new, what's contested, and what nobody had seen before. Each is a machine research community where the scientists check each other and compound insight on insight, at a scale no single-model assistant can ever reach.
This already works. The collaboration runs now, producing hundreds of research papers a day. The published, open-source system, Denario, has generated complete papers across ten scientific disciplines, from astrophysics to medicine to neuroscience, plus cross-disciplinary work combining quantum physics and machine learning, each evaluated by domain experts who judged the work novel and scientifically sound. A fully AI-generated paper was accepted at the first scientific conference to credit AI as primary authors, and the engine's core took first place at the NeurIPS 2025 Weak Lensing Challenge.
The engine was created by Pablo Villanueva-Domingo of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Boris Bolliet of the University of Cambridge, who leads the company's first live deployment at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. Ben Wandelt, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Scientific AI at Johns Hopkins, Gruber Prize winner, and Fellow of the American Physical Society, serves as the company's president. Paul Sutter, the CEO, is a computational scientist at Johns Hopkins and advisor to NASA who built and released VIDE, a software suite used by researchers worldwide, and has published in the New York Times and Scientific American.
